About this Expedition
The quietest of the four lake trips, and the only one that runs all year round. Groups of eight at most.
Private transfer to the shore, an hour of stand up paddle on still water, and then lunch: an Andean picnic served by the water, drinks included.
The second half is the workshop. Pucará bulls are the ceramic piece that sits on the ridge of houses across the southern Andes — they go in pairs, placed to protect the home and draw fertility and abundance. Here you paint them alongside local artisans, materials included, and the bull goes home with you.
This is the one that works best when the group includes people who do not want adrenaline, families with children, or someone still acclimatising: the lake sits at 3,507 metres but the day is stationary, with no physical effort.
Bring clothes you do not mind staining, a hat, and some cash in soles.
