Pickup at 04:30 am to Capuliyoc (2950m). Steep 4-hour descent into the Apurimac canyon bed, lunch at Chikiska. River crossing and initial vertical climb to Santa Rosa.
4-hour uphill trek to Marampata (2911m) before the midday heat. Andean lunch and continued 2-hour hike to the base camp adjoining Choquequirao (3057m).
Deep morning exploration of the complex sectors. Return journey starts with a 3-hour descent to Santa Rosa for lunch. Descent to the Apurimac river and final 2-hour climb to Chiquiska.
Final 4-hour uphill climb to Capuliyoc. Special traditional underground feast (Pachamanca) cooked with hot stones. Van visit to Saywite archaeological monolith and return to Cusco at 18:00.
