Huaypo Lake Half Day: Paddle & ATVs

Half a day at Huaypo Lake, for anyone with a busy afternoon or who has just landed in Cusco. Pickup at 8:30 am to the Chacán sector in Anta, at 3,507 metres.

Water first: briefing, kit, and out on a stand up paddle board across a lake with no current. That is why this trip is rated easy — no previous experience and no particular fitness needed — and why it works with children and with first-timers on a board. If you would rather sit and paddle a kayak than stand, say so when you book.

Then an ATV loop around the lake, with stops where the photograph is actually worth taking: the shoreline holds the best angles onto the water and the surrounding fields.

You are back in Cusco by mid-afternoon with the rest of the day free. The price covers pickup transport, an official guide and full safety equipment for both paddle and ATV; lunch is not included.

Bring warm layers: at this altitude the sun burns and the wind bites at the same time.
