Hotel pickup at 04:30 am to travel to Piskacucho (Km 82). Passport control. Flat hike viewing Llactapata and Patallacta. Lunch at Hatunchaca and final 2-hour ascent to Ayapata.
The most challenging day. 4-hour ascent to Dead Woman's Pass (4200m). 2-hour descent to Pacaymayo Alto for lunch. Second ascent to Runkuraqay pass (4000m) and camp at Chaquicocha.
Leisurely 5-hour hike through the cloud forest with Salkantay views. Visit Phuyupatamarca and Intipata ruins. Final camp at Wiñaywayna for a farewell dinner.
Early wake-up for checkpoint at 05:30 am. 1-hour hike to Intipunku (Sun Gate) for sunrise over the citadel. 2-hour guided tour of Machu Picchu and panoramic train return.
